Central County Emergency 911 provides fire and dispatch services for the majority of St. Louis, Franklin, and Jefferson counties in Missouri. We are always looking for new hires to assist in EMS and fire dispatch.

A 911 Call Taker and Dispatcher is an individual who talks to the public to gather information about their emergencies, dispatch the appropriate fire and/or EMS units, enter data into the CAD, and monitor multiple radio channels.
Applicants will begin the process as a Call Taker and have the opportunity to advance to the Dispatcher position in the future.
You must be Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD), and CPR certified or must be willing to obtain the EMD/EFD/CPR certifications within the first 90 days of employment. Failure to do so by the end of the 90 day period will result in your termination from the position.
There are multiple phases of the hiring process, which include skill testing, job shadowing, interviewing, background checks, and drug tests.

Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.

Available to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Available for mandatory overtime, as needed.

Ability to sit for long periods of time, with standing desks available as needed.

Prior Fire/EMS dispatching experience is a plus, but not required.

Minimum 18 years of age.

Minimum of a high school diploma or the equivalent in experience.
